# A Face for Every Occasion --- <div class="content-box-table-black-small"> <div img src="Mimic Chest.jpg" class="internal-embed" > </div> </div> Malleable and adaptive, true mimics are able to change themselves almost without limitation. Short and stout or tall and lean, covered in fur or in a dense coating of scales true mimics are able to change themselves to adapt to their current situation. Although particularly unique examples may grow beyond the medium creature type, true mimics can change everything but their mass. True mimics are more adventurous than their more common kin, preferring to explore the wider world in order to find new and more interesting things to eat and imitate. True mimics often choose a common form that resembles the other races that they wish to interact with but can just as commonly be found in more animalistic shapes when occasion calls for it. # Curious and Hungry --- True mimics have grown beyond the simple hunger that drives their kin, though their nearly insatiable hunger still drives many of their choices. True mimics have gained full sapience and it is their curiosity about the world around them that drives them to seek out and interact with what their kin, the common [[Mimic]] would consider nothing more than a meal. As they grow in knowledge and experience a true mimic can improve their imitations beyond simple appearance, gaining substance to the illusion, growing their claws and scales as they understand how such things are done. True mimics are always seeking to explore and grow their size and knowledge both, seeking out unique creatures that display traits which interest them. # Without Kith or Kin --- Just like the common [[Mimic]] from which they are descended, true mimics are completely asexual and reproduce through budding when they reach a certain age before immediately separating from their progenitor, least they become its next meal. As a result, true mimics are without family or community, though they often tend to crave and even create their own after interacting with the greater world. With their increased awareness and understanding comes a need for companionship, often first for protection, but later for more social reasons. This often leads true mimics to join with other adventurers on their quests, simple so that they can stay with their found family. # True Mimic Traits --- Your true mimic character has an assortment of inborn abilities, part and parcel of your nature and origin. ***Ability Score Increase.*** - Your [[Intelligence]] score increases by 2. ***Age.*** - True Mimics are considered adults virtually as soon as they are born, though they will grow in size and knowledge as they explore.
