![[ACI Logo.jpg]] # Description --- The Arcana Containment Initiative, or "ACI" is a cross dimensional multidisciplinary clandestine organization which exists in order capture, contain, and document the world of the arcane. ACI members include politicians, [[Artificer|artificers]], [[Wizard|wizards]], [[Fighter|fighters]] and many others. # Mission Statement --- The ACI exists to observe, track, secure, and document the arcane in order to protect from those who would abuse its power for selfish ends. # Branches The ACI is broken down into a number of sub branches and departments in order to better focus it's resources. The major branches include: - [[Administration]] - [[Security]] - [[Containment]] - [[Research and Development]] - [[Acquisitions and Procurement]] - [[Archival]] ## Containment Staff ### General Containment Staff General Containment Staff are one of the lowest levels of staff employed by the ACI. These individuals are responsible for cleaning facilities and equipment, feeding and caring for those anomalies in containment with such needs, and generally any other needs that may arise. These individuals are typically gathered from locals native to the region where a given facility has been placed. ## Research Staff The research and development branch of the ACI is both the focus of much of its resources and the source of all of its power. The ACI employes specialists in every field and area of research, and it's vast knowledge and resources have facilitated the creation and exploitation of devices both wonderful and terrible. Members of the research department include the following: ### Research Assistant Research Assistants are individuals who have shown some skill with the arcane and/or have skill(s), such as [[Resources/Templates/Character Sheet Content/Backgrounds/Archivist|Archivist]] or scribal skills, which are needed in the ongoing research and development that occupies much of the ACI's resources and energy. Research Assistants are often drawn from low level [[wizard|wizards]] or even [[sorcerer|sorcerers]] who show sufficient aptitude. Assistants are always under the supervision of a higher level research staff. ### Junior Researcher A junior researcher is an individual who has proven themselves as being competent if not gifted in the arcane and are typically promoted from the ranks of experienced research assistants who have demonstrated their value. Junior researchers may be given small projects to oversee on their own and generally have more latitude for creativity and experimentation than is granted to assistants. ### Senior Researcher A Senior Researcher is an individual, typically either someone who has been trained as an [[Artificer]] or a [[Wizard]], who has demonstrated superior skill in arcane research and development and has been entrusted with project(s), and typically a team of Junior Researchers, and are trusted to carry out their research with little supervision. Senior researchers tend to be high ranking and powerful spellcasters who have demonstrated many years of service to the goals of the ACI. #ACI
