They came to create a new home, having long ago mastered the knowledge of creating life where there is none and bending it to their benefit where it exists. The members of this elder race created the first of what would become the formless from the inert lifeless matter of the young planet. Created to serve as sort of all purpose servant race, these new beings were designed to be malleable and adaptable, able to reshape their bodies and organs in a moment to fit any need.
